The Public Affairs Director of Anglogold Ashanti (AGA), Mr John Owusu has died, Joy News has learnt.
In a rather tragic circumstances, Mr Owusu was ran over by a company vehicle, Saturday during a swoop on galamsey operators.
The operators were illegally mining a concession belonging to AGA at Obuasi and the team had gone there to assess the situation.
Reports say the workers were chased by the galamsey workers and in a bid to escape, the driver unknowingly run over Mr John Owusu who was standing behind the vehicle.
He was rushed to the AGA Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The mining company is yet to issue a statement on the unfortunate incident.
