The contending factions in the CPP have agreed to retrieve all the party's vehicles in the possession of its 2004 Presidential candidate, George Aggudey and others. The vehicles are to be branded as custom demands, with the party's name, motto, colours and the red cockerel. This was the result of an amicable settlement between an aggrieved group in the CPP and the national executive members. The seven plaintiffs, led by Nana Kwaku Dumfeh, a Greater Accra Regional Executive member of the party, filed a writ at an Accra Fast Track High Court against the party national executives. The eight defendants mainly made up of national executives were led by Dr Edmund Delle, the National Chairman and leader of the CPP. According to the agreed settlement document adopted by the court as its judgments, the plaintiffs and the defendants held a meeting with Kwame Sanaa Poku Jantua, the facilitator on March 11, 2007 to amicably settle the issues out of court. It said both parties agreed that eight positions of a national executive task force should be reserved to be filled by nominees of the plaintiffs. It said it was also agreed that although the defendants had now informed the plaintiffs that the Central Committee of the CPP had never expelled the three CPP MPs and that the party had published a statement to that effect, it was important that another statement should be published again to clear the contradictions created by the reinstatement in the affirmative at paragraph 12 of the defendants' statement of defence.. Paragraph 12 of the defendants’ statement said "that the Central Committee dismissed the three CPP MPs at its meeting in Kumasi on January 19,2006. the decision of the Central Committee was restated at its meeting in Accra on May 11, 2006 and communicated to the three MPs by the legal committee of the party". According too the agreement all and any of their endorsement or issues not dealt with seriatim in this settlement were deemed to be subsumed within the terms of this settlement. It was also agreed that any action required to be taken on this settlement shall be taken not later that March 31, 2007.
