Hundreds of women, including some men of Aglow International, a non-denomination Christian group convened in Accra on Saturday to thank God for a smooth transition period in the country.
The congregation, who were mostly clad in national colours, hoisted Ghana’s flag to sing, dance and praise God.
Mrs Gifty Affenyi-Dadzie, National Prayer Director of Aglow, led the congregation in a session of intercessory prayer to thank God for peace in the country and to rededicate Ghana to Him.
The congregation prayed for God’s forgiveness for the past administration, media and other heads of government institutions whose actions might have offended God and the country in any way.
They also interceded to seek God’s blessings on the land, for a stable economy, more oil resource and bumper harvest.
Prayers were also made to dedicate President John Evans Atta Mills’ administration to God, asking for God’s guidance for the new government.
The Judiciary and Legislative arm of government were also not left out, as they prayed for rule of law, freedom and justice to prevail in the country.
Mrs Affenyi –Dadzie in a message asked all Ghanaians to make God their Shepherd in 2009, saying, “if we make God our shepherd, he will lead us into greener pastures”.
She enjoined all to champion the cause for truth, respect for rule of law, justice and peace in the country.
The Prayer Director said Aglow would continue to intercede on the country’s behalf and said they would convene each month at the Independence Square for that purpose.
