The Ahodwo roundabout in Kumasi that was rehabilitated with funds from the Atwima Kwanwoma Rural Bank was on Wednesday inaugurated.
The Bank also funded the erection of a "battle-ready" giant horse with the fore legs raised at the roundabout.
Inaugurating the facility, Madam Patricia Appiagyei, the Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive, commended the financial institution for funding the project that had added beauty to the Kumasi Township.
She said the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) embarked on beautification and decongestion exercises to clear the city of filth, and to remove unauthorised structures from streets, pavements and walkways.
Madam Appiagyei said the KMA solicited support from private companies which motivated institutions like the Bank to fund the rehabilitation of the roundabout.
She said the Do Dave Company, National Investment Bank, Kuapa Kooko Company, Angel Group of Company, Mobile Telecommunications Network, Guinness Ghana Limited, Gerofix Rent-a-Sign Company among others were funding works on other roundabouts in the metropolis.
She commended the people for supporting the decongestion and the beautification exercises.
Mr Godfried Odame Asare, Chief Executive Officer of the Rural Bank said apart from its main activities, the financial institution was helping the people to fight against poverty, ignorance and diseases in its areas of operation.
He said the Rural Bank maintained a huge budget to enable it undertake development projects in the Ashanti Region.
Mr Asare said the Bank donated a Television set and a video deck to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and 200 Ghana cedis towards blood donation for the hospital.
He said the Bank donated 1,000 Ghana cedis to the Old Tafo electoral area for the purchase of wheel barrows, shovels, pick axes for clean up exercises.
Mr Asare commended Mr Emmanuel Obeng-Bonsu of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology for contributing to the completion of Ahodwo roundabout project.
Reverend Paul Frimpong-Manso, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank, said the financial institution was committed to helping the people to engage in economic activities.
