Airtel has taken its affordable products and services to the doorstep of customers to demonstrate its resolve of giving Ghanaians the best of telecom experience yet within the means and reach of all.
The exercise, which took the form of a procession through the principal streets of Accra started on Monday at Adenta through to the Kwame Nkrumah Circle and it is expected to cover several parts of the city including the Central Business District, Adabraka, Kaneshie, Odorkor, and Kwashieman etc.
Other areas earmarked for the exercise include Teshie-Nungua, Ashiaman, Tema and this will be replicated in all regional capitals subsequently.
Apart from operating the most affordable call tariff of GHp 8 for both on-net and off-net calls, and the daily exchange of 8 free text messages (SMS) between customers, Airtel has also introduced three brands of affordable handsets, Acatel and ZPE for only GHS 27 and GHS 25 respectively which are sold to the public during the procession.
Also available is the bundle package of a new Nokia 1280 phone plus Airtel SIM card, talk time and SMS credits for GHC 40.
Purchasers receive an equivalent amount in free talk time and SMS text messages over the first 12 month period once they load any amount of Airtel credit to the SIM card.
Delighted at the offer, many lined up along the road and seized the opportunity to buy some of the phones to remain connected.

Through our affordable products and services, we are giving everyone the freedom to stay in touch with family and friends this festive season and beyond.’
Madam Elizabeth Adjeiwaa Frimpong who trades at the Madina market said, Airtel’s tariffs are friendly to us small scale businesswomen, I am most excited at the fact that apart from the low cost call rate on the network, you are notified after every call how much has been charged and the amount left, it tells you the tariffs are genuinely low.
