AirtelTigo has paid ¢1 million debt owed to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
This was after the ECG Accra West Region operations team stormed the company's premises on Thursday to demand payment of accrued bills.
After a prolonged negotiation between managers of ECG and the Telecom operator, the two parties agreed that AirtelTigo makes an upfront payment of one million Ghana cedis or risk being disconnected.
The latest from the team left behind by the ECG to ensure that the company makes the payment is that AirtelTigo has paid the ¢1 million debt.
Earlier, the ECG team disconnected the Accra Digital Center for owing some ¢600,000 after a failed negotiation between the two parties.
Other companies visited by the revenue mobilisation team so far include FanMilk Ghana and Accra Breweries PLC.
The visit to both companies, according to the ECG, was to compliment the management of both companies for the swift and consistent payment of their Electricity bills.
The operation is currently continuing in other parts of the Accra West Region.
