President Akufo-Addo has extended his heartfelt condolences to President Lazarus Chakwera and the people of Malawi on the tragic loss of their Vice President, Saulos Chilima.
Mr Chilima died along with nine others on Monday after a military aircraft he was flying in crashed in a forest in the northern part of the country. He was 51 years old.
In his message on the death of the Vice President, President Akufo-Addo described Mr Chilima as a dedicated public servant whose commitment to the development of Malawi will be remembered.
"His loss is felt deeply beyond his nation’s borders," he said.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of all those who perished in this tragic incident. We share in their grief and stand in solidarity with the people of Malawi during this period of mourning."
President Akufo-Addo also extended his heartfelt condolences to the widows and families of all those who perished in the tragic incident.
