Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has paid tribute to Nana Konadu Yiadom III, the 14th Queen Mother of the Asante Kingdom, describing her as “an adorable queen of grace and wisdom.”
On Wednesday, August 13, 2025, a delegation of chiefs and elders from the Manhyia Palace, led on behalf of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, formally informed the former President of the Queen Mother’s passing.

Nana Konadu Yiadom III, a fellow member of the Oyoko clan, served as Asantehemaa for eight years, during which she was widely admired for her dedication to the traditions and values of the Asante Kingdom.
In his tribute, Mr. Akufo-Addo recalled their close personal friendship. “Anytime I was in Kumasi, I did not hesitate to seize the opportunity to visit her to convey my regards,” he said.

The former President extended condolences to the Asantehene and the people of Asanteman, praying for her soul to rest peacefully “in the Bosom of the Almighty, until the Last Day of the Resurrection.”
