The 2008 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, will be addressing a news conference in Accra on Tuesday, May 26 to address a number of national issues. This will be his first official public comment since the National Democratic Congress took office. According to The Chronicle, Nana Addo is not enthused about the governance of the country under the leadership of President Mills, especially the way and manner NPP officials are being vilified, instead of focusing on the real issues that confront the nation. The paper quotes its sources close to Nana Addo as claiming he is deeply worried that President Mills had not demonstrated his commitment to be a father to all, as he promised during his inaugural speech. He would talk about the apparent lack of positive action by the NDC government to rule the country. The paper, still quoting its sources, said Nana Addo would ask President Mills to focus on the economy, ensure that the nation is brought back onto its tracks, and also to see the NPP as partners in development, but not enemies.
