The 2012 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and his running mate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, will address a campaign rally at Asante-Bekwai on “Workers Day”, May 1.
They would be joined by Former President John Agyekum Kufuor and other leading members of the party, including the National Chairman, Mr Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, General Secretary, Mr Kwadwo Owusu-Afriyie, Minority Leader, Mr Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the Ashanti Regional Chairman, Mr Fredrick Fredua Anto, and Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Mr Joe Osei-Owusu.
A press statement signed by the Constituency Chairman, Mr Patrick Adu-Gyamfi, said the rally would mark the start of vigorous canvassing for votes to return the NPP to power.
“The leadership, rank and file are united in the common goal of working tirelessly and making the needed sacrifices to significantly increase the party’s share of votes in the upcoming general polls.”
They would move from house-to-house to help voters to have better understanding of the NPP ideology to win them over. "There should be no time to waste", the release added.
