The Members of the Presbyterian Church, Ghana have been urged to guard and uphold the virtues of truth, hard work and respect left for them by the founding members of the church many years ago.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo said the best and only way to have their history embedded is to always uphold the virtues of truth by the founding members which will help leave a befitting legacy for the new generation and even those unborn.
President Akufo-Addo noted that a lot of institutions and churches could not have the opportunity to celebrate 175 years of God's glory, hence the need to be proud of themselves and be thankful to God for the blessings and grace bestowed on them.
“We remember the sacrifices the young German Missionaries from Bremen made to plant a seed that has grown to bear fruits playing considerable role in the development of the country," President Akufo-Addo said.
He noted that the church has produced great men and women of God who have greatly distinguished themselves from others and have become role models to other churches.
The EP Church, Ghana, he said, has played a very important role in the development of the country, building a lot of institutions in the areas of education, health and agriculture throughout the country.

He assured that the government will continue to collaborate with the church to bring more light to where darkness is so that together they can build a more prosperous country.
The Moderator of the General Assembly of the church, Rt Rev Dr Lt. Col. Bliss Divine Agbeko (RTD) in his speech noted that the 175 years of ministerial experience in sending light to where there is darkness is still being done adding that regardless of challenges, they would forever remain grateful to the almighty God for the grace.
The Moderator pledged the church's readiness to continue to support government in educating and healing citizens through orthodox and acceptable standards.
The Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Letsa, in his speech noted that the EP Church, Ghana has made a lot of strides in the areas of education and health of which he is a beneficiary.
The Paramount Chief of Peki Traditional Area, Deiga Kwadzo-Dei XII, who chaired the function said the significant role chiefs and elders of the traditional communities played in hosting the church in their societies when the early missionaries came cannot be ignored.
He also commended the government for continuing the Eastern Corridor Road which is progressing steadily.
