Mr Samuel Agyei of the Convention People’s Party had 109 votes, with the two Independent candidates, Mr Basil Ahiable and Mr Samuel Abrokwah polling 1,835 and 64 votes respectively. The rerun became necessary in the Akwatia Constituency following the inconclusive election of a member of parliament during the December 7, 2008 election.
