A member of the government’s communication team is accusing the minority in parliament of undermining the court and other state institutions in the country.Akyena Brentuo is bewildered by utterances from the Minority leader – Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu - which sought to question the competence of the then Attorney General, Mrs Betty Mould Iddrisu, in her handling of a judgement debt awarded by the court to an NDC financier, Alfred Woyome, for alleged abrogation of contracts under the previous NPP Administration.Mensah-Bonsu at a press conference on Tuesday charged Betty Mould Iddrisu for complicity in a “fictitious” agenda by Woyome to defraud the country.He said the least the president can do is to give Mrs Iddrisu, who has since been moved to the Education Ministry, a sack, pending a thorough investigation into the matter.But on Top Story on Joy FM Akyena Brentuo said the NPP must stop “shopping for blames,” desist from derailing the authority of state institutions and begin to question their own involvement in what has become the biggest judgement debt paid to an individual.According to him, the judgement debt paid to Mr. Woyome was duly approved by parliament in the 2010 Budget of which the minority NPP was privy to.He said, if anything, the NPP must resort to an appeal process in court and stop hoodwinking the public with their media façade.Contrary to claims by some officials of the NPP that there was no contract with Waterville, Akyena Brentuo read a copy of a letter he claimed was signed in April 2006, by the then Sports Minister Osafo Marfo which gave Waterville the right to start work on the stadia for the CAN 2008.He said the contract was awarded on the basis of Waterville’s technical expertise and financial muscle.He also read a copy of a letter he claimed was written and signed in 2010 by officials of Waterville to the Attorney General in which it spelt out its relationship with Alfred Woyome.Akyena stated that NPP erred grievously in abrogating a legitimate contract signed with Waterville.
