Mr. Alan Kyerematen a New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential aspirant for the 2008 Election, on Monday donated 100 bags of rice worth GH¢22,000 to support the celebration of Ramadan.
He made the donation through the National Chief Imam Sheikh Nuhu Sharabutu, in Accra.
Mr. Kyerematen said the gesture was to demonstrate his love for the Moslem Community, which had continuously offered sacrifice and prayers for peace and stability in the country.
He commended Moslems for peacefully co-existing with other religious organisations and for their patriotism.
Mr. Kyerematen noted that the high sense of maturity exhibited by Moslems had contributed to the promotion of democracy and good governance in the country.
He informed Sheikh Sharabutu about his decision to contest the NPP flagbearership and asked for his support, guidance and prayers.
Sheikh Sharabutu thanked Mr. Kyerematen for the gesture and observed that the presidential aspirant had faith in God and excellent leadership qualities.
The National Chief Imam promised to pray for Mr. Kyerematen in his quest to become the flagbearer of his party.
