The Managing Editor of the Bilingual Free Press Alhaji Bature has expressed disappointment in President Atta Mills for not fulfilling his promise to reopen all high profile cocaine cases in the country.According to him, if President Mills had done that before the Wikileaks report, he would have gained some credit for taking steps to stop the drug trade in GhanaSpeaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme, Alhaji Bature noted that it is stated in page 34 and 35 of the NDC manifesto that the NPP government has lost the fight against narcotic trade and that when voted into power they will open all high profiled cases. He added that President Mills should do justice to his pledge to ensure that the real culprits are dealt with to serve as an example to others. “He should reopen the cases for us to see the real canker that went on under in the NPP.”“In the interest of the people of Ghana, it is proper and appropriate for the president to reopen investigations into all narcotic cases for us to see. We should not sit hear and allow foreign government to be telling us what goes on in our country. Let us tell our own story”.He however stressed that President Mills should be commended for requesting that his personal entourage should go through drug-screening at the Airport.Meanwhile government in response to the whistle blowing website Wikileaks has reaffirmed its committed in the fight against narcotics regardless of the threats that the leaks pose to this fight.Stroy by:Adwoa Gyasiwaa/Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
