The director of the 2010 Ghana Movie Awards, Prince Tsegah has revealed that all set for the maiden awards show which seeks to award excellence in the Ghanaian movie industry.The awards night which comes off on December 25 will take place at the Accra International Conference Centre, and according to Prince, who was speaking to Myjoyonline.com, the event will be attended by some crème de la crème of both the Ghanaian and the Nigerian movie industries.Renowned Nigerian movie stars like Patience Ozokwor, Desmond Elliot, Mercy Johnson, Jim Ike, Tonto Dike and a host of well established Ghanaian actors are expected to attend the event.In all, 25 categories are up for grabs with the high point being the awards for Best Actor and Best Actress. The winners for those two categories will each drive home a new Zotye SUV.Prince told Myjoyonline.com that the awards night will be a history making one as it marks the first edition of the first ever movie awards to be held in the country.“It is going to be a night of gilts and glamour, red carpet treatment, something you have never seen before. The movie industry is a very lucubrate and very competitive industry. We are about to see history being made, the first ever Ghana Movie Awards.”The awards night dubbed the Ultimate Party of the Season according to organisers will not only be about movie as a long list of celebrated Ghanaian music acts that include 4x4, V.I.P, Daseebre Gyamenah, Samini, Ofori Amponsah, Rana, Tic Tac, Wutah, Nana Boroo, Mimi, Kwabena Kwabena and Tinny.Story by Ernest Dela Aglanu/Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
