The Greater Accra Amateur Boxing Association (GAABA) will organize a novice championship on Tuesday, May 1 at the Prisons Canteen in Accra.The championship forms part of the Association’s efforts towards developing the sport in the region.Gideon Quartey, Vice Chairman of the Association told the GNA Sports that the championship is also expected to produce young boxers to compete for the region and nation as a whole in future tournaments.He appealed to owners of gyms, coaches and trainers to support the idea to enable the programme yield the expected results.Weighing for the championship will take place in the morning at the Panix Boxing Club.Source: GNA
