The deputy youth organizer of the NDC, James Kofi Funu has accused Amina of availing herself to a section of rival politicians whose intentions are to tarnish the image of the government.
Speaking on Luv FM, Mr. Funu described the situation with Amina as rather unfortunate and admonished the youth in the country to be wary of some politicians who are only concerned about their parochial interests.
"I seriously believe that Amina with her age alone cannot come out with this horrific story and I believe there are people behind her to do this…so I'm cautioning the youth to be alert not to allow themselves for people to use," Mr. Funu said.
He added that Amina would be haunted by events of this case for the rest of her life and therefore, stressed the importance for the youth to desist from such actions.
Touching on government’s agenda for the youth, the NDC youth organizer stated that he believes agitations of NDC foot soldiers could soon be a thing of the past since the NDC government’s programmes from now till the 2012 elections will address the staggering unemployment in the country.
"The current budget they are going to read, in reflection of the job creation will be seen after the budget. Our youth who are mostly the engine of the party should tone down their agitation because jobs will come in such a way that people will even be selective of job."
Mr. Funu attributed challenges facing the government in meeting expectations of the youth partly to the crippling economy the Mills-led administration inherited from its predecessor.
Mr. Funoo praised the efforts of government, adding that it has been able to stabilize the economy as well as bringing inflation down from 21.4% to 9% and reducing deficit from 14% to 9%.
He pointed out that a lot of jobs will be created and therefore entreated the youth to brace themselves for better times.
