Ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, and rising Ghanaian actor, Abraham Attah, have both been honored in Massachusetts, United States of America.
Anas received AYE’s Honorary Award for Excellence in Journalism for his exceptional investigative works in the country and abroad and Attah received AYE’s Honorary Award for Excellence in Art for his meteoric rise to fame..
Anas was recognised for exceptionally exposing the crass corruption in across Africa: from seedy outlaws to corrupt security officials to fraudulent public servants and Supreme Court judges.
The group commended him for his continued commitment to human rights and anti-corruption work and for projecting African issues on the global stage.

On his part, young Attah was recognised for his role in the celebrated Netflix film, Beasts of No Nation, the Ghanaian young actor, has metamorphosed from a local actor to an international actor booking his role in upcoming Hollywood movie, Spiderman Homecoming.
The duo was given the keys to the city of Massachusetts by the Mayor, Joseph Petty. This recognition is given to esteemed individuals doing outstanding work in their chosen fields. It also symbolizes the freedom of the recipient to enter the city anytime as a trusted companion.

Touching on Abraham Attah, the City Mayor said: “Your award winning performance captivated world audiences; these profound strides serve as an inspiration for other young actors like you. You have a unique and bright future ahead of you.”
The programme which was organised by the African Youth Excellence Incorporated (AYE), a non-profit dedicated towards highlighting the accomplishments of African youth, took place on Saturday, July 23, 2016.

Young Africans aged 18 – 35 pursuing projects aimed at bettering their communities in areas such as Art, education, information technology, entrepreneurship, innovation and humanitarian were recognized and honored.
