The 6th edition of the Annual Ramadan Qur'an Memorization and Recitation Competition comes off this Saturday, June 2, 2018.
The hugely attended event will take place at the Africana Guest House at Atomic Junction near Madina.
The initiative of Islamic Non-Governmental Organisation An-nur Al-Islamiyyah (The Light of Islam) is geared towards promoting the study and memorization of the Qur'an among Muslim youth.
The competitors have been drawn from selected Senior High Schools (SHS) in Accra and Eastern Region. Some participating schools include Ebenezer SHS, Tema SHS, St Thomas Aquinas SHS, New Juaben and the Nsawam SHS.
An-nur Al-Islamiyyah was started in September 2003, at the University of Ghana by a group of Muslim students.
Its prime aim is to exploit current advancements in information technology to carry the message of Islam to people.
It also helps in developing the quality of human resource of the Muslim youth through skills training and orientation programs.
