Two directors of Aqua Vitens Rand, managers of Ghana Water Company, are said to be quitting their jobs.
The Operations Director of the company, Cliff Stone, and the Managing Director, Anne De Groot, are leaving the job by next month.
According to the company, Cliff, who is currently out of the country, is leaving Ghana for personal reasons after spending only a month-and-a-half in the country.
He has come under heavy criticism from the public and advocacy groups like the Integrated Social Development Centre for what they say was the company’s inability to deliver.
The Government of Ghana signed a management contract with Aqua Vitens in 2005 for the improvement of urban water distribution but many say they have done little to deliver on their mandate.
Anne De Groot is expected to return to the parent company in Holland and the company says replacements for the two are expected in Ghana this month.
