Ghana striker, Asamoah Gyan, would be missing out of Rennes second leg of his side's UEFA Cup second qualifying round match.
Gyan picked up a thigh injury over the weekend while playing for Rennes in the French Ligue 1 and would now be unavailable for the game against Stabæk IF.
The player tore his thigh muscle a few minutes after coming on in during Rennes' 2-1 league win against LOSC Lille Métropole on Sunday.
Gyan will undergo further tests on Tuesday to determine the extent of the injury.
Asamoah Gyan joined Rennes from Udinese this season and has appeared in three games for his new club.
Rennes trail Stabæk 2-1 ahead of the second leg at the Route de Lorient stadium on Thursday.
