In attendance were the Vice President, Dr Mahmud Bawumia, and other government functionaries and representatives of the opposition NDC.
Other dignitaries and representatives from other countries were present to share the day with the Asantehene.

A rendition of a happy birthday song by the renowned keyboardist, Alfred Addaquaye, was enough to set the King and all present in the birthday mood.

In his sermon, Rt. Rev. Nuh-Ben Abubakr praised the King for his achievements but encouraged him to focus on future prospects.
“Although you have done a lot for Asantemen and Ghana, the advice is that you forget what you have achieved so far and continue to move forward towards the goal; the goal of making Ashanti a model traditional state,” he said.
Speaking on behalf of the Asantehene, Mamponghene, Daasebre Osei Bonsu thanked all for helping lift the image of the Golden Stool.
A cake was cut as part of the celebration.
