The Young Reporters Workshop, being held on the sidelines of the 2025 CAF African Schools Football Championship (ASFC), concluded successfully on Friday, April 26, in Accra.
Thirty individuals were involved in the capacity-building programme, which also took place at the University of Ghana Stadium.
The five-day event was facilitated by Ibrahim Sannie Daara and Thabang Mazibuko, who are both with the CAF Communications department.
Romain Hussonnois and Anta Guindo, from Canal+, as well as Media General's Michael Oti-Adjei, were also present to guide the participants.
The programme, which forms part of six other CAF capacity-building programmes, is supported by Canal+ and will see four selected graduates being afforded an exciting internship opportunity with the French media house next year.
The unique initiative, which supports CAF’s vision of making African football globally competitive and self-sustaining, provides rising media talents with hands-on international experience and professional mentorship—key tools to help shape authentic narratives about African football.
The CAF Young Reporters Programme, a flagship initiative under CAF’s broader strategy for youth development, aims to nurture the next generation of African storytellers who will spotlight the continent’s talent and unique football culture.

Head of TV and Communications at the CAF, Luxolo September, was present on the final day of the programme, sharing a word of advice to the next generation of African journalists.
“This programme is about more than just journalism—it’s about telling the African story through African voices,” said September. “We are proud to continue working with Canal+ to offer these young individuals a pathway into the professional world. These are the storytellers of tomorrow, and CAF is committed to supporting them every step of the way.”
