The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) says its personnel on Tuesday, 7 March 2023, conducted a swoop in Ashaiman which “was not targeted at innocent civilians but was an intelligence–led operation conducted on suspected hideouts of criminals and crime-prone areas in the general area.”
“Following the operations at Ashaiman-Taifa and Tulaku, the military personnel picked up about 184 suspects aged between 21 and 47 years old.”
The Ghana Police Service on the other hand, says it received information on March 4, 2023, that a male adult had been found lying dead at Ashiaman Taifa in the Greater Accra Region.
It also conducted “painstaking intelligence-led operations” and on March 9, arrested suspects Safianu Musah alias Dayorgu and Ibrahim Abdul Rakib, and followed up with the arrest of four others - Samuel Tetteh alias Wiper, Abubakar Sadick alias Birdman, Yussif Mohammed and Abdul Gafaru Abdul Karim.
