Some Kufuor era Municipal and District Chief Executives are angry at the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) for taking credit for projects completed and commissioned during Kufuor’s tenure in office.
The aggrieved former MDCEs say that most of the published brochures and documentaries reporting on NDC projects in the Ashanti Region include projects completed before the New Patriotic Party (NPP) left power.
They are therefore calling for the immediate withdrawal of such documentaries and an apology to local residents for what they describe as “public deceit.”
The call comes barely 24 hours after the DCE for Bosomtwi in the Ashanti Region admitted erroneously crediting the NDC for the construction of a healthcare facility.
NPP member and former Amansie Central DCE Stephen Asamoah Boateng called the action is an insult to local constituents.
However, Thomas Korkuoh, the current Amansie Central DCE, says that the NDC government should be commended for continuing projects initiated by the Kufour administration.
