The Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council has identified 618 uncompleted infrastructure projects in the region.
The inventory was taken in line with President Mahama's vision to invest in uncompleted infrastructure projects.
Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene speaking at a press conference in Kumasi, reveals the projects are being grouped under various financing options after which efforts will be made to resume work on them.
“We are sorting them in accordance with the various sources of funding so that I can take the initiative to lead a delegation to the institutions and remind them of the projects and the need to complete them,” he said.
Residents of the Ashanti Region have often lashed out at governments over the neglect of some infrastructure projects.
In the 2024 Presidential election campaign, NDC Flagbearer, John Mahama made a promise to deliver on all stalled projects if elected.
Prior to the new government's plan to complete the projects, the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council has taken inventory on stalled projects.
Before assuming office, the Minister decried the state of the Presidential and Ministerial residencies in the Ashanti Region after an inspection.
To improve the situation, a team has been commissioned by the Minister for the purpose.
“The management of our assets for the past years has been a problem, for which reason, I have commissioned a team to review the management of the RCC assets and make proposals and recommendations for the development of the Ministerial and Presidential residencies”, the Minister emphasized.
