The Ashanti Regional SRC is kicking against moves by the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools to abolish the student body at the regional level.
CHASS says it will no longer recognise the Regional SRC or allow students to pay dues for its operations.
A statement signed by the National President of CHASS Bolina Saaka says the branches were formed without consultation. They are also accusing the SRC of instigating student unrests.
Jonathan Acheampong, President of the Ashanti Regional SRC, describes the allegations as unfounded, saying the move is only intended to break students' front.
He has also warned of organised protests if CHASS does not reverse its decision.
