A statement from the Accra-based University College said the award “seeks to identify and celebrate the achievements of social entrepreneurs who understand the role education can play within their communities in creating positive social change”.
It said prize winners were selected from a pool of over 100 applicants from across Africa, adding Ashesi University College was selected for their “high quality approach to undergraduate education”.
The statement said Ashesi University College over the last six years had developed an innovative approach to tackling entrenched problems in education.
