The Akilu Sayibu Fan Club in Tamale has lauded the peaceful manner the Assemble elections were conducted in the Northern region on the 30th day of December 2010.
In a statement issued to the press and signed by its chairman master Haruna Ahmed and secretary Mr. Victor Bugiri, the club commended the Electoral Commission of Ghana, the security forces and other stake holders for their various roles in the conduct of the elections and entreated that such collaboration must be consolidated for election 2012 to ensure peaceful elections.
The Akilu Sayibu Fan Club also congratulated all those who won seats to the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly and other Assemblies across the region and urged them to have the development of their various areas as their number one priority.
It also commended all contestants for putting themselves up for the elections in the first place and asked them to team up with the various winners to generate accelerated development in their various communities.
The statement also wished all the very best of the New Year.
