The assembly man for Badoor near Bawku in the Upper East Region has been shot dead.
Francis Fuseini who is also an NPP activist in the area was shot by an unknown assailant while he was returning from Bawku.
Police sources in the town have confirmed the incident but will not speak on record.
The Upper East Regional Security Council is said to have moved in to avert any reprisal attacks.
