The security that comes with having a job cannot be underestimated.

The safe net a salary provides reduces the financial burden on the employee and respective benefactors.

However, crossing the hurdle of the human resources department is one crucial stage.

Many hacks have been documented on how to better prepare for a job interview. But most of the time, the practical and theory go two separate ways.

A Twitter user, Diji asked at what point prospective employees found out that they had flunked that all-important interview.

Omo, I spy person CV oh. One of the core competences I wrote was "Ingenuity". I spied it too. It was for a teaching job in a nursery school oh. The man carried my CV and asked me the meaning of ingenuity. I said it means fake. Oga start to laugh. I just told him to give me my CV.

Just after nysc was desperately job hunting and I was killing the interview when they said I was really well spoken and they would rather have me in their marketing team, I replied God forbid.

Interviewer asked about my experience with a Pivot Table. Me thinking it was a physical table, started listing lies. Talked abt hw I had used it in my previous job for manual labor. After interview was over, looked up Pivot Table on google. It is a tool on Microsoft Excel 🤣🤣😂

During the interview one of the staff walked in and stretched his hands towards me for a handshake, I stretched mine and he said ‘next time, stand when you want to shake someone’ I replied ‘can’t you see I’m in an interview?’

Went for interview with Dufil Prima Foods and was asked to use SWOT Analysis to analyse Indomie. For weakness, I sha said studies show that unprocessed food increases the risk of cancer. After that statement I never checked my mail for their feedback 😢😢

When I asked them why I should work for them.

“You’ve asked me why i should be hired for the role. I’d like to know why I should work with you. What’s your employee value proposition?”

Then they said that was the end of the interview 😂😂😂

Got to interview early it was by 12pm, got there by 11am. I was the only one at the interview room, I wanted until 1:30 pm, no one came to attend to us. I went outside to get water to drink because I was tasty, saw a bet9ja shop, went in, started playing virtual left there 9pm.
