Ghanaian artiste Gyakie has spoken about the altercation that ensued between her manager Electro Mirror and the security at the 2023 AfroNation festival in Portugal.
Speaking to Doreen Avio on Daybreak Hitz on Friday, May 23, 2025, she said the experience is one that she shudders to talk about because it evoke unpleasant memories.
"I really wish I was able to answer this particular question at the time, because it's like anytime I have to talk about it, it kind of opens wounds that have already been healed," she noted.
She added that "because what happened and the fact that I actually had a performance on that day, is not something I will wish on anyone. Because I had to also prepare for stage and I had to experience all that happened."
The 'Forever' singer said the incident got her phone buzzing with calls. "It made me see things differently," she noted.
Gyakie further cautioned that the entertainment business comes with problems that requires that individuals that ply their trade in the space become more careful.
In June 2023, a video which went viral on social media captured the moment Gyakie's manager Electro Mirror was manhandled by some uniformed security personnel to the horror of onlookers.
The video which was shared by George Britton, had George’s panicky voice in the background, reproaching the security personnel for their act.

Mirror could be seen pinned down to the floor while the security men numbering about five had him in a chokehold as he gasped for air.
In the meantime, Gyakie is preparing to release her first album after releasing two EPs. She has released the first single titled 'Sankofa', off the upcoming 'After Midnight' album.
