Level 300 communication students from the African University College of Communications and Business (AUCB) are set to take center stage on Saturday, April 26, with a dynamic presentation centered around branding excellence.
This event highlights the institution’s growing focus on creative and entrepreneurial education.
The event, which will take place at the university’s forecourt in Adabraka, promises to be more than just a typical academic display.
It is a curated experience, driven entirely by students, and aims to showcase the principles of effective branding along with the practical, real-world applications of their studies in marketing, communication, and business strategy.
Part of the “Branding and Brand Management” course for Level 300 communication students from the Strategic Communication department, the event provides an opportunity for students to apply their branding knowledge in a practical way.
They will create and present their own brand identities, showcasing creativity, originality, and clear communication of brand messages. Presentations will include brand names, logos, slogans, mission and vision statements, as well as brand background stories.
Mr. Peter Wonders, commonly known as RSM, an AUCB Lecturer and Branding Expert, emphasized the importance of the event. He said it would serve as a platform for students to demonstrate not just theoretical knowledge, but also innovation and market-ready ideas.
“It’s about more than just logos; branding involves identity, strategy, and techniques. My students are ready to show that they understand branding at every level,” said Mr. Wonders.
The event will feature interactive branding exhibitions and team-based showcases, where students will explain the concepts and ideas behind their brands, as well as the production processes of their various products.
Some students will also unveil their personal brands or start-ups, further solidifying AUCB’s reputation as a hub for emerging talent in Ghana’s creative and business landscape.
“My students have poured their hearts into this project. They will prove that branding is more than just logos – it’s about identity, strategy, and unique methods of communication,” he added.
Industry professionals, alumni, and the general public are invited to attend, with a strong turnout expected. The event presents an opportunity for stakeholders to discover fresh talent and for students to network beyond academia.
The Branding Presentation Day is a prime example of how AUCB supports practical learning and gives students the chance to receive valuable feedback from industry experts, which can aid their future careers.
