Editor-in-chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako, says he has been voting for parliamentary candidates of his party, the Convention People’s Party (CPP).Clarifying his earlier submission that he has since 1992 voted for the presidential candidates of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Baako told Joy News that in 1992, he voted for General Erskine, a CPP ardent.Mr. Baako said as the Publicity Secretary for the People’s Heritage Party (PHP) in 1992, he officially campaigned on both television and radio and voted for General Erskine who was then the presidential candidate for the PHP.He further explained that in 1996, the Great Alliance – consisting of the NPP of the United Party (UP) tradition and the People’s Convention Party (PCP) which was the Nkrumaist tradition – was formed with ex-President John Agyekum Kufuor as the flagbearer and the late Mr Ekow Nkensen Arkaah as the running mate.Malik Baako who was speaking on Joy FM’s Newsnight Thursday stated that he officially campaigned for the Great Alliance and “voted for Mr Kufuor whose face was on the presidential ticket.”"2000 Election, first round, I voted for Mr Kufuor.
