Ebusua Dwarfs head coach Bashir Hayford is prepared to leave the club in order to avoid any embarrassment of being told to ‘’step aside’’. 

The experienced trainer believes his days at the Cape Coast-based club are numbered following a woeful start to this season’s Ghana Premier League.

After six matchdays, Hayford's side are candidates for relegation as they lie last but one on the table, having picked up five points. 

They suffered their third defeat of the season against Kotoko when they lost 2-1 at the Baba Yara stadium. After the game, Bashir told reporters he is ready to save his image by walking out. 

"I'm packing my belongings to leave Cape Coast because I know I will be asked to step aside looking at the results churned out after six matches, I may want to go because I don't want to be disgraced," Hayford said.

"I have never been sacked by any club but I always leave quietly when things are not going right. The referees are behind this, after these six games, I can say the referees have not changed, can you imagine these same set of referees were banned last year for not performing and they [referees] say it's payback time, can you imagine that?''

“I won't be surprised if i am asked to step aside''.

Ebusua Dwarfs will host Liberty Professionals at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday on matchday seven.
