The Ashanti Regional Secretary for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Joseph Yamin has described the Editor for the All-Hajj Newspaper, Alhaji Bature Idrissu as the cause of divisiveness in the NDC.
Joseph Yamin explained that the likes of Alhaji Bature have contributed to continuous internal wrangling in the party.
The regional Secretary said this in an interview on Adom Fm’s Dwaso Nsem on Tuesday, in reaction to a question Alhaji Bature asked President Mills concerning the cold relationship between former President Rawlings and President Mills.
“The problem in the NDC is not between former President Rawlings and President Mills, but it is between the likes of Alhaji Bature who rekindle past issues that have occurred between the two and I’m asking Bature if he is providing solution or rekindling old wounds’, Joseph Yamin asked.
He stressed that, all the party needs is unity to win 2012 elections irrespective of who started the problem of disunity in the party.
“NDC can go to sleep and yet beat Nana Akufo- Addo, if we continue with our support base prior to the 2008 elections. The kind of development projects that are being carried out in the country, I tell you if we continue with party unity, the NDC will be laughing to the Castle in 2013’, Joseph Yamin said.
However, Alhaji Bature Idrissu described as unfortunate, the comments by Joseph Yamin saying that he misunderstood him (Alhaji Bature).
Alhaji Bature maintained that if the cold relationship between ex-President Rawlings and sitting President Mills is not addressed in time, there is no way the NDC will win power in 2012.
