Akosua Manu, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2024 parliamentary candidate for Adentan, has described the character of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as one rooted in genuine national progress rather than personal ambition, as the party prepares for its upcoming presidential primaries.
Speaking ahead of the NPP’s presidential contest scheduled for January 31, January 6, Ms Manu said the former Vice President’s leadership style has consistently been guided by integrity, ideas and a deep sense of responsibility towards improving the lives of Ghanaians.
She stressed that his record in public service reflects a commitment to national development anchored in principle, not self-interest.
According to Ms Manu, who also serves as an aide to Dr Bawumia, the former Vice President has demonstrated a clear vision for Ghana’s future through policy innovation and reforms aimed at modernising the economy and strengthening public institutions.
She noted that these efforts underscore his long-standing dedication to progress and inclusive growth.
She further asserted that Dr Bawumia’s approach to leadership has been defined by credibility and a willingness to pursue bold ideas in the national interest, even in the face of political challenges.
“Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s character reflects a genuine dedication to national progress, not personal ambition. Integrity and ideas have consistently guided his leadership, and he has a deep commitment to improving the lives of Ghanaians,” she said.
Dr Bawumia, the former Vice President of Ghana and the NPP’s 2024 presidential candidate, is seeking re-election to lead the party into the 2028 general elections.
