The Professional Marketers Association of Ghana Students at the weekend launched its week in Sunyani with a call on marketers to be faithful and loyal to their employers.Kwabena Agyekum, Executive Director of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) who made the call stressed the importance for marketers in repositioning the image of the country in the era of globalization.
The theme for the week’s celebration is; “Brand equity of corporate Ghana, a case of the HND marketer”.
Mr. Agyekum stated; “You should be able to maintain the dignity of your employers to maintain and attract more customers”.
He emphasized the importance of marketing in the competitive market and advised the students to be well equipped to be able to face the challenges of the profession.
The Executive Director advised them to study Information Communication Technology ICT) to broaden their knowledge.
Takyi Gyan, Vice Principal of Sunyani Polytechnic who presided, advised the students to respect time and concentrate on their books.
In a related development, Baba Adam Musah, a Muslim scholar and administrator of the community water and sanitation agency in Takoradi has called on Muslim students to take the study of ICT very serious in order to cope with the challenges of globalization.
Speaking on “Challenges of modern world to the Muslim Ummah”, at a symposium organized by the Sunyani Polytechnic branch of the Ghana Muslims Students Association, Mr. Musah stressed that ICT provided faster, affordable, portable and the easiest of vital information.
He expressed concern about the unavailability of Islamic study materials, noting that through the use of the Internet, Muslim students could access adequate learning materials to promote the religion.
Mr. Musah called for the reintroduction of Arabic and Islamic studies in the regular state-run school system and to make them examinable to all Muslims but optional to non-Muslims.Source: GNA
