Benin, Ghana's Group D opponents of the World Cup qualifiers, were hammered 5-1 by Egypt in an international friendly in Cairo on Wednesday.
Emad Meteb and Mohamed Abou-Treika scored two goals apiece as the Pharaohs won convincingly at home.
Ahli Dubai midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabou was also on the score sheet to help the Pharaohs brush aside minnows Benin.
Striker Razak Omotoyossi scored Benin's consolation five minutes from time.
Egypt laid siege to Benin's area from the very beginning and penetrated their shaky defense on several occasions.
The hosts were awarded a penalty after 21 minutes when Meteb was sandwiched between two Benin defenders.
Spot-kick specialist Abd-Rabou stepped up and fired into the bottom corner as the keeper's attempt to block his effort went in vain.
Meteb doubled Egypt's advantage five minutes later in an unfortunate manner.
Soliman tricked a challenger inside the area before drilling the ball across the six-yard box.
A headed clearance by a Benin defender struck the woodwork and fell kindly for the unmarked Meteb to volley into an empty net.
The Ittihad Jeddah on-loan striker added the third in the 41st minute when his low shot, though weak, struck the keeper's legs and went into the back of the net.
Abou-Treika put the result beyond doubt two minutes before the break when he cut inside his marker before firing a powerful right-footed shot into the far top corner.
Benin notched a consolation five minutes from time, thanks to Al-Sayed blunder.
The Zamalek guardian failed to handle a tame Omotoyossi shot that struck the post and fell into the path of the Al-Nasr striker, who made no mistake at the second attempt.
