Premier league side Berekum Arsenals has replaced AshantiGold SC for the season opening Top 4 competition.
Arsenals who finished in 5th place on the league table earned the call up after AshantiGold decided not to participate in the competition.
The Management of Ashgold took the decision to opt out after the organizers, the Ghana League Clubs Association turned down its request to have the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi included as one of the venues for the tournament.
GHALCA insists the competition will be played in Cape Coast and Sunyani. The Chairman of GHALCA J.Y Appiah explained that complying with Ashgold’s demands would have set a bad precedent.
Accra Hearts of Oak, Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Heart of Lions are the other participants.
