The heat was on in the Big Chef kitchen this past Sunday, July 6, 2025, as contestants faced their most unpredictable challenge yet the Mystery Ingredient Task.
Unlike previous episodes where the chefs knew what they were preparing, this time, no one had a clue what awaited them in the kitchen. And that was the twist that stirred excitement, nerves, and a whole lot of creativity.
Each contestant randomly picked a folded piece of paper to reveal the surprise ingredients they'd work with. The mission? Think fast. Cook smart. Be confident. With the finals around the corner, there was no room for hesitation only boldness, innovation, and kitchen instincts.
The judges were on high alert, observing not just flavors and presentation, but also how quickly the young chefs adapted under pressure. From comfort food to kitchen experimentation, the dishes were as diverse as the contestants themselves:
Nicholle served Mashed Potatoes with Scrambled Eggs and Herbal Soup, Hilda brought flavor with Kivo Curry and Chicken Sauce with Potatoes, andSerwaa wowed with her signature Tastebud Tango.
Raziela also got creative with Egg Indomie, Jayden presented Jayden Special Nugpota Eggs while Monalisa made Creamy Delight.
Bubune impressed with Indo Tat Cheesy Balls with Fried Chicken Breast and Poached Eggs
Sasha cooked Mashed Potato Fries
At the end of the challenge, it was Bubune who emerged as Star Chef of the Week, thanks to her delicious and well-thought-out plate that fused flavor and presentation effortlessly. Her victory earned her an automatic spot in the finals, a huge advantage as the competition nears its climax.
Meanwhile, emotions ran high during the eviction phase. Sasha, initially among the bottom four, was saved, bringing visible relief to her and fans alike. That left Serwaa, Jayden, and Hilda in danger. Serwaa, a two time Star Chef known for her consistent performance, was ultimately saved by the judges a decision that sent Jayden and Hilda home.
The tension is rising, the competition is narrowing, and every plate counts.
From bubbling soups to cheesy balls and herbal infusions, the Mystery Challenge proved that Big Chef is about cooking, courage, creativity, and rising under pressure.
With only a few contestants left standing and the finals drawing near, the kitchen has become a battlefield of dreams. Who will rise, and who will fall next?
Stay tuned to Big Chef Season 4, airing only on Joy Prime where every flavor tells a story, and every moment could change a young chef's life.
