Ho Technical University has emerged as the judges’ favourite in the second episode of the newest tertiary cooking reality show on Joy Prime, Big Chef Tertiary.
The school’s representatives exhibited creativity and uniqueness as expected by the judges in executing the challenge of the second episode, dubbed 'Mystery Board.'
The Volta region-based technical university outclassed other five participating schools, including Accra Technical University, Koforidua Technical University, Cape Coast Technical University, Kumasi Technical University, and the Takoradi Technical University, with their dish.

Ho Technical University wowed the judges as their meal met the requirements of both the judges and the competition.
The episode saw the heat in the kitchen turn all the way up as the 18 contestants from the respective schools were tasked to create recipes with ingredients found on their mystery board, put together by the judges.
The mystery board contained fish, potatoes, and Kellogg’s go grain. All participants were given 60 minutes to cook it up, serve their dishes, and wow the judges.
After each school selected their runners, the 60-minute countdown began. The judges for the season, Chef Tracy and Chef Sam, ensured that contestants kept their stations clean and used every ingredient they picked from the open market.
"If you waste my ingredients, I will waste your marks," Chef Sam warned.
Some dishes prepared by the contenders were potato frittata, poisson osseuse, fondant potatoes, squash, potato wedges, and pumpkin puree, among others.
At the end of the 60-minute countdown, some of the contestants were criticized for how poorly their meals turned out, while others were applauded for their beautiful plating techniques and the sumptuous taste of their meals.

At the end of the episode, representatives from Ho Technical University, Sandra, Elizabeth, and Godsway were filled with excitement as they were crowned the star school of the day.
The other schools are encouraged to put in more effort and thrill the judges in the subsequent episodes.
