Joy Prime’s culinary show, Big Chef Tertiary Last Sunday, saw representatives of Cape Coast Technical University, Linda and Elizabeth kiss the remaining 6 tertiary schools goodbye after failing to impress the judges during the local food extravaganza episode.
Koforidua on the other hand, beamed with smiles as they emerged “Star school of the day for the first time.”
The contestants were tasked by the judges to create innovative traditional dishes, celebrating the rich culinary heritage of their respective regions. With 30 minutes to impress the judges, the contestants hurriedly got to work.
The episode however took a turn when the host, Michelle Agyekum halted all contestants for a little surprise. A representative from Fortune walked into the kitchen with bags for each team containing secret ingredients they had to infuse in their meals. Indeed this charged the atmosphere in the kitchen as contestants determination to impress the judges heightened
After tasting all the dishes, the judges praised the performances of teams who managed to balance innovation with respect for the authenticity of local flavors.
Unfortunately, representatives of Cape Coast Technical University Linda and Elizabeth took a sad exit from the competition.
This Sunday, the six tertiary institutions are back with more appetizing and tasty meals as they take on the “Flavor Infusion and Indomie Challenge”. With 30 minutes to get creative and proactive in the kitchen, which team will impress the judges most with their meals and which teams will sadly come to an end.
