Bisa Kdei's "Asew'' remix soundtrack in American Christmas film "Jingle Jangle" has been nominated for the 2021 National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NACCP) Awards.
The awards confer honours on outstanding performances of people of colour in film, television, music and literature.
The multiple award-winning Ghanaian artiste has been nominated in Outstanding Soundtrack/Compilation Album on Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey together with various artists.
Other nominees for that category also include Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom (Music from the Netflix Film) – Branford Marsalis (Milan), The First Ladies of Gospel: The Clark Sisters Biopic Soundtrack – Donald Lawrence (Relevé Entertainment), Soul Original Motion Picture Soundtrack – Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross, Jon Batiste and Tom MacDougall (Walt Disney Records), among others.
The likes of Trevor Noah, Nicco Annan, Davido, Adjoa Andoh, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Michaela Coel, and Yvonne Orji have all been nominated in various categories.
The 52nd edition of the awards event would air on BET, CBS, and MTV on Saturday, March 27, 2021.
