Ghana’s U-19 female soccer team, the Black Princesses have been drawn alongside hosts Algeria, Senegal and Cameroon for this year’s All Africa Games. The draw, which was conducted by the Confederation of African Football on Monday in Algiers and gathered by the GNA Sports, pits the Princesses in Group B.Defending Champions, Nigeria has been paired in Group A with South Africa, Mozambique and Ethiopia. The Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon are considered the strongest opposition in Group B considering their pedigree on the continent. The Black Princesses and the Super Falcons of Nigeria automatically qualified for the quadrennial event.Meanwhile in a related development, Ghana’s Black Meteors have also been drawn in Group A of the Men’s competition together with Tunisia and the winners of the South Africa-Botswana and Cameroon-Gabon matches. The rest of the teams (quartet) have so far played only first round matches of the qualifiers with the return legs slated for this weekend.South Africa look certain to qualify after they beat Mozambique 2-0 in the first leg while Cameroon is also favoured over Gabon despite going down 0-2 in the first leg encounter in Libreville. The Meteors qualified to the competition at the expense of Nigeria on the away goal rule after holding the Nigerians to a 1-1 goal aggregate.Ghana won bronze at the last edition in Abuja. The other Group has Algeria, Egypt, Senegal or Guinea and Zambia or Mozambique.Source: GNA
