The troubles of the Black Queens will simply not go away. As if their disastrous exit from the Women's World Cup is not enough, Ghana's national female football team is stranded as they try to connect a flight back home.The Queens were expected to leave China last Friday, a day after their WWC campaign came to an end but unable to get a flight from Hangzhou to Hong Kong that same day, FIFA allowed them to spend a day more at its expense, with the hope of getting them on a flight the next day.However, the obviously homesick team had to spend another day in Hangzhou as they were told by the local airline, Dragon Air, that there were no available seats for the team on last Sat¬urday's flight to Hong Kong.So with their huge luggage in excess trailing them, and uncertainty hanging over their actual departure, the Queens returned to their hotel unsure if FIFA would pick the day's bills again, or would have to be footed by the state.Luck smiled on them on Sunday when they finally had a flight to Hong Kong, but on arrival they were told they would have to wait to see if they could be flown from Hong Kong to South Africa as it was unclear if their flight on the South Airways airline had been confirmed.They were not the only ones who got stranded in Hangzhou. The members of the WOSUGA, a women's supporters group led by Assembly woman, Freda Prempeh, who went to China to support the team could not also fly out of Hangzhou as they were told that they could not be flown out last Friday as scheduled on their flight arrangements.Source: Daily Graphic
