Former Ghana captain Stephen Appiah has pleaded with Ghanaians and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to be patient with Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton.
The 64-year-old has come under immense pressure from members of the GFA in recent times who have revealed their dissatisfaction with the performance of the national team since Hughton took over.
Since his appointment, Ghana has played three games winning one and drawing the other two, all coming in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Speaking on Joy Sports' Prime Take, Appiah, who captained Ghana to its first World Cup called for more time for the Irish coach.
"We are in a country where we don't have patience...We have to know that any coach you bring comes with a different style of play so the players never get used to a particular play," he said.
"That is why maybe we are not getting what we want to see [with Chris]"
He added that there are not enough men on Ghana's technical team, something that has become part of the modern game.
"Today's football is not all about what we see on the pitch. The force is about the people on the bench - the technical staff. That is why more teams in Europe have more technical staff than the [playing body]," he continued.
"At the end of the day, all this is money. Do we have the money to do that? No."
Hughton will be in charge once again in September when Ghana face Central African Republic in the decider for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
