Majeed Ashimeru has tipped the Black Stars to progress from their group at the 2022 FIFA World Cup to be staged in Qatar.
The Ghanaian midfielder believes Otto Addo's side has the needed quality to make it from Group H, where Ghana has been pitted against Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay.
Ahead of the start of the tournament, the Black Stars played a last friendly game against Switzerland, beating the Europeans with a 2-0 score.
Speaking on Star Connect which airs on Joy Prime, Ashimeru backed the team to qualify to the knockout stages.
"We are going to make it out of the group stage," a confident Ashimeru said.
"We will be going forward after the group stage. From there, we believe we can get further.
"We have the quality so I am really confident we can do something. Though we have a young squad, I am not afraid because there are so many surprises.
"Anything can happen so we just have to stay focused."
The Black Stars will play their first game of the World Cup against Portugal on November 24, at the Stadium 974.
