Eastern Regional Minister and NDC Parliamentary Candidate for the Abuakwa North constituency Ambassador Victor Smith has lambasted the opposition NPP for the under development in the Akyem Abuakwa area over the past twenty years.Ambassador Smith opined that the New Patriotic Party had always taken the people of Abuakwa North for granted because of the belief that the people will vote for whoever they present irrespective of their qualities, track record or their ability to bring the needed development to the people.The Regional Minister, who spoke at a one day forum in Koforidua on ensuring peaceful elections organized by the Gender Center for Empowering and Development GENCED an NGO based in the Municipality the constituents to read between the deception of the opposition and support any candidate who has a shown the ability to bring the needed sustainable development to the area.He therefore charged the constituents to be wary this time in order not to fall for the NPP’s deception because they have been given enough opportunities by the people over the years to deliver the area, but they have failed woefully.Present at the one-day peace forum were representatives of all the political parties in the constituency, some regional party executives from the Eastern Region, a representative from the French Embassy, Security Personnel and representative from the electoral commission who also gave assurance of their contributions to ensure a peaceful election in Abuakwa North.
